Health Warranty
Cuddle Wind puppies are sold as pet quality only with limited registration. The seller does not guarantee color, adult size, conformation, reproductive ability, testicles descending, potty training ability, or the temperament of the puppy. Seller guarantees that the puppy is in good health at the time of sale. All puppies will have been vet checked at least twice, had their 2nd set of vaccines, and will have been dewormed.
This puppy is warranted for 12 months from the date of purchase against life-threatening genetic disorders such as heart murmurs, lung, liver shunts, or kidney defects. This health warranty would not include such things as loose knees or joints, hypoglycemia, allergic reactions, undescended testicles, loose adult tooth, overbites/underbites, hernias, etc. Hypoglycemia is considered to be a management issue and not a congenital issue and will not be covered in this health warranty.
Patellar luxation is very common in small breeds like Yorkshire Terriers. Due to the possible environment in which the puppy is raised and the treatment which it receives can have a significant influence on patellar luxation and collapsing trachea, these two conditions are not covered on this health warranty. Additional exclusions to this health warranty include but are not limited to: retained baby teeth, malocclusion, or other minor illnesses.
If this puppy develops such a life-threatening genetic disorder within the first year, the seller will replace the puppy with a puppy of like value, as soon as a replacement becomes available. The buyer will be allowed to keep the original puppy in addition to the replacement puppy if desired. The seller is willing to take back the original puppy if requested. Seller requires licensed veterinary documentation of diagnosis on the veterinarian's letterhead as well as documentation that the puppy is current on all core vaccinations and veterinarian-recommended preventative health measures. Seller also requires diagnosing veterinarian to provide medical records pertaining to the life-threatening genetic disorder to the seller's veterinarian for confirmation of diagnosis. Seller may require a presentation of the puppy for examination. Upon verification of documentation and/or confirmation of diagnosis by the seller's veterinarian the puppy will be replaced with a puppy of like value when one is available.
If returning the original puppy to the seller, the puppy must arrive with the original registration papers and a signed transfer to the seller. Document transfer and/or transportation expense is the responsibility of the buyer. Seller will not be responsible for medical treatment to cure such genetic life-threatening disorders.
Seller requires that buyer have a licensed veterinarian examine the puppy within 3 business days after the buyer has taken possession of puppy. If the puppy is found to have a life-threatening congenital defect, the puppy may be returned within 5 business days. The seller will replace the puppy with a puppy of like value when one becomes available. The puppy must be returned with the original registration papers and veterinary documentation of diagnosis on the veterinarian's letterhead. Transportation expense is the responsibility of the buyer. If the puppy is not examined by a licensed veterinarian within 3 business days, this health warranty will be voided.
If within 10 days of the buyer taking possession of the puppy, a licensed veterinarian determines that the puppy has a contagious or infectious disease that was present at the time of sale, the buyer may return the puppy and receive another puppy of like value in replacement when one becomes available. The puppy must be returned within 2 business days after receiving the diagnosis, along with the original registration papers and veterinary documentation of diagnosis on the veterinarian's letterhead. Upon verification of documentation and/or confirmation of diagnosis by the seller's veterinarian, a replacement will be provided when one becomes available. Transportation expense is the responsibility of the buyer. If the buyer chooses to retain the puppy, the seller agrees to reimburse the buyer for medical expenses relating to the contagious or infectious disease up to the amount of $100.00. Seller requires veterinary documentation of diagnosis on the veterinarian's letterhead as well as a copy of the billing. Upon verification of documentation and/or confirmation of diagnosis by the seller's veterinarian, reimbursement up to but not exceeding $100.00 will be provided.
All puppies should be spayed or neutered by the age of SIX months. All puppies are sold on a limited registration contract and NO BREEDING is allowed otherwise the health warranty will be forfeited.
If the puppy dies within the first 12 months of the purchase date, and the death is determined by a licensed veterinarian to be a direct result of a congenital defect, the buyer may receive a replacement puppy of like value, when one is available. The buyer must inform the seller of the death within 2 business days and provide veterinary documentation of diagnosis and cause of death on the veterinarian's letterhead, as well as a copy of the billing. The buyer must also provide veterinary documentation that the puppy was current on all core vaccinations and veterinarian recommended preventative health measures. Seller may require the buyer to produce the animal for examination or may require an autopsy to be performed at the buyer's expense by a licensed veterinarian. Transportation expense is the responsibility of the buyer. If the autopsy confirms a congenital defect as the cause of death the seller will reimburse the cost of the autopsy. Seller may require DNA testing at the buyer's expense before any reimbursement, or replacement is provided. If DNA testing confirms the puppy as the progeny of the AKC recorded dam and sire, the seller will also reimburse the cost of the DNA testing.
No replacement will be provided if the health problems or death is the result of maltreatment, neglect, injury, or a disease contracted after the date of sale. The seller is not to be held liable for any veterinary bills incurred after the date of sale other than those stipulated in this warranty. All sales are final. This contract is for the person purchasing this puppy and is null and void if transferred to another person.
